LONDON, Nov 29, 2023 (BSS/AFP) - West Brom continued their surge up the Championship table as Jeremy Sarmiento's strike earned a 1-0 win at Cardiff, while Hull thrashed Rotherham 4-1 to move into the top six on Tuesday.
A fifth victory in six games takes West Brom up to third in the table and within seven points of the automatic promotion places.
Jaden Philogene scored twice as Hull climbed into the playoff places.
Tyler Morton and Scott Twine were also on target for the Tigers, while Rotherham remain rooted in the relegation zone.
A double from Isaiah Jones helped Middlesbrough thrash Preston 4-0 to close within three points of the top six.
Watford came from 2-0 down to beat Norwich 3-2 and leapfrog the Canaries in mid-table.
At the bottom, QPR moved to within three points of safety thanks to two late goals in a 4-2 win over 10-man Stoke.
Top faces bottom on Wednesday when leaders Leicester travel to Sheffield.
Ipswich host Millwall, while Leeds can move back into third when they take on Swansea.
