DHAKA, Jan 10, 2024 (BSS)- The third round of Bangladesh Premier League football begins from Friday (Jan 12) with four matches are billed for the day at four separate venues across the country.
On the day, holders Bashundhara Kings will meet Fortis Football Club at Bashundhara Kings Arena in the city at 5 pm, Abahani Limited, Dhaka take on Lieutenant Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club at Sheikh Fazlul Haque Mani Stadium in Gopalganj, Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited play against Brothers Union Club at Muktijoddha Smrity Stadium in Rajshahi and Chittagong Abahani Limited face Rahmatganj Muslim and Friends Society at Shaheed Birshreshtha Matiur Rahman Stadium in Munshiganj. All the tree matches will begin at 2.45 pm.
Meanwhile, Sheikh Russel Krira Chakra will take on Bangladesh Police Football Club in the remaining third round match which will be held on the following day (Saturday) at Bashundhara Kings Arena.
After second round of the league, Bashundhara Kings topped the table with six points from two matches while Fortis Football Club collected three points from the same number of matches.
Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club bagged three points from two matches while the traditional sky blue Dhanomondi outfit bagged one points from two outings.
The black and white Motijheel outfit Mohammedan Sporting Club bagged four points from two matches while the Gopibagh outfit Brothers Union Club secured one points from the same number of matches.
The traditional old Dhaka outfit Rahmatganj Muslim and Friends Society bagged two points from two matches while the port city team Chittagong Abahani Limited failed to secure any points playing the same number of outings.
