RAJSHAHI, Jan 14, 2024 (BSS) - The 52nd National Winter Sports Competition of school, madrasas and technical institutes will be held from February 7 to 12 in Rajshahi with colourful mood.

The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE), Rajshahi and Bangladesh National School, Madrasha and Technical Institutions Sports Association will jointly organize the national sports event at Government Physical Education College.
 
To make the event successful, the BISE authority held a preparatory and coordination meeting at its conference hall with participation of all stakeholders on Saturday.

With BISE Chairman Professor Oliul Alam in the chair, the was addressed, among others, by Deputy Director of the Department of Secondary and Higher Education Dr Shormin Ferdous Chowdhury, District Education Officer Nasir Uddin and Principal of Shaheed Mamun Mahmud School and College Dr Golam Mawla.

Dr Oliul Alam told the meeting that around 900 students and officials concerned from across the country are expected to join the event.

He also said upazila level competition will be held from January 15 to 21, while district level from January 23 to 27, sub-regional from January 29 to February 1, regional from February 3 to 5 and finally the national level from February 7 to 12.
 
In addition to the sports competitions, history and heritages of Rajshahi will be highlighted in the opening ceremony of the event.
 
"We have already constituted 20 sub-committees to make the event successful and fruitful," he added.

Prof Alam also said the event will take the Rajshahi and its image to a new height.
