DHAKA, March 2, 2024 (BSS) - Ten matches of EXIM Bank 34th National Men's Handball competition were decided on the opening day (Saturday) held at Shaheed Captain M Mansur Ali National Handball Stadium in the city. 
 
Bangladesh Handball Federation's (BHF) president AKM Nurul Fazal Bulbul formally inaugurated the meet.
 
Maldives handball president Ahmed Mujtoba Ahmed Mujtoba was present as the special guest.
 
Sajib Banerjee, senior vice president of corporate affairs and branding and marketing division and development division of EXIM Bank Limited PLC was president as the special guest.
 
On the day's matches, Bangladesh Ansar and VDP beat Dinajpur District Sports Association (DSA) by 79-17 goals, Bandarban DSA defeated Joypurhat DSA by 42-11 goals, Dhaka DSA outclassed Shariatpur DSA by 58-4 goals, Bangladesh Police Handball Club overpowered Panchagarh DSA by 37-32 goals, Kushtia DSA outclassed Khulna DSA by 37-11 goals, Gopalganj DSA beat Bagerhat DSA by 22-21 goals, Chapainawabganj DSA defeated Thakurgaon DSA by 44-12 goals, Narayanganj DSA beat Barguna DSA by 16-12 goals, Chattogram DSA beat Gaibandha DSA by 41-5 goals, and Sunamganj DSA defeated Patuakhali DSA by 30-23 goals.  
 
A total of 34 teams -- thirty one district sports associations and three services teams - are taking part in the meet, sponsored by EXIM Bank Limited and organized by BHF.
