DHAKA, June 2, 2024 (BSS)-After reaching the final, Bangladesh national kabaddi team coach Abdul Jalil said they are fully focused on winning the final match and keeping the fourth trophy of the Bangabandhu Cup International Kabaddi tournament at home.
The final is scheduled to be played tomorrow (Monday) at 4 pm. The coach also asked for support from a bigger home crowd in the match.
After the match, Jalil said that the boys emphasized the first twenty minutes and scored more in the first half.
Bangladesh national kabaddi team captain Aruduzzaman Munshi said that they were not expecting an easy win against Thailand as Bangladesh had a bitter experience of a defeat to the same opponent in the 2014 Asian Games.
Aruduzzaman who was named the man of the match said: "We were expecting a stronger Thailand in the semifinals and didn't think that we could win the match so easily."
Recalling the bitter experience of the 2014 Asian Games, he said, "We once lost to Thailand by a big margin. We didn't want a repetition of that here. So we were very cautious about the match. We didn't even practice the previous day instead, we analyzed the moves of all our opponents in the match individually. Eventually, that turned well for us in the match."
Aruduzzaman Munshi also hoped to retain the trophy this time.
