BRIDGETOWN, Barbados, June 22, 2024 (BSS/AFP) - West Indies captain Rovman Powell won the toss and put the USA in to bat in the T20 World Cup Super Eights match at the Kensington Oval on Friday.
The two co-hosts of the tournament both lost their opening games in the Super Eights stage with West Indies losing to England and the USA defeated by South Africa.
West Indies made two changes with Shai Hope coming in for the injured batsman Brandon King while on the bowling side, left-armer Obed McCoy is preferred to Romario Shepherd.
The USA, surprise qualifiers for the last eight after being Pakistan in the group stage, also made a couple of switches with Shadley Van Schalkwyk and Milind Kumar coming for Shayan Jahangir and Jasdeep Singh.
South Africa lead Group 1 with two wins from two games with England second with one victory from their opening two matches.
