SYDNEY, Aug 1, 2024 (BSS/AFP) - Football Australia on Thursday said they had parted ways with Matildas head coach Tony Gustavsson after a disastrous Olympic campaign that saw one of the world's best women's teams fail to reach the quarter-finals.
Gustavsson, 50, leaves after four years in charge. "We thank him for his strong contribution, passion and commitment. Football Australia chief executive James Johnson said in a statement. "(We) wish him every success for the future."
