We don't want to see any politicization in sports: Aminul 

DHAKA, Aug 13, 2024 (BSS) - Aminul Haque, former Bangladesh national football team captain, said that it is important to stop politicization in sports in a bid to protect it from being ruined completely.

He said in the last 17 years, they have seen the dangerous effect of politicization, which left Bangladesh sports in a disarray state.
 
"I promise you, no politicization will be done anywhere in the sports. We have learned this in the last 17 years that how politicization ruin the sports. We have seen the dictatorial behaviour, we do not want another dictatorship to come," Aminul, the captain of SAAF winning Bangladesh Football team said while addressing the media at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium today.

He attended a human chain and protest meeting outside of the stadium under the banner of Bangladesh Krira Unnayon Parishad, demanding the resignation of all directors of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB).
"Sports is a place for all people. There is no need for the opinion of any party here. If we can get rid of politicization and partisanship, we will want to equip every federation including the cricket board with the people who are the real organizers and who love the sports. I promise you that there will be no opportunity to give preference to any particular party."

Aminul was accompanied by former BCB Grounds Committee Chairman Rafiqul Islam Babu, Cricket Welfare Association of Bangladesh (CWAB) General Secretary Debbrata Paul and sports organizer Tariqul Islam Titu. After the protest, they went to meet BCB CEO Nizam Uddin Chowdhury. 

They have raised their voice about voluntary resignation of the current board directors.

"There is a time for everything, there is a process. We have raised our demands. We have said that the current cricket board should immediately resign voluntarily. After their resignation, we will form a new committee, sitting with the sports adviser."
