DHAKA, Aug 13, 2024 (BSS)-A reckless batting put Bangladesh A in trouble on
day one of the first four-day game against Pakistan Shaheens (Pakistan A) at
Islamabad Club Ground today.
Pakistan star bowler Nasim Shah, who are trying to make a comeback in the
Test team and Mir Hamza wrecked havoc on Bangladesh A as the visitors were
bowled out for only 122 after electing to bat first,
Both of the pacers scalped three wickets apiece. Opener Mahmudul Hasan Joy
was the only to make some resistance, having scored 65 off 194, with the help
of nine fours.
Mushfiqur Rahim and Mominul Haque, the two senior batter of Bangladesh Test
team, who took this match as a preparation platform for the upcoming Test
series against Pakistan, made 14 and 11 respectively.
Rejaur Rahman Raja was the other one to reach double digits apart from the
trio, scoring 10.
The toss was delayed for three hours due to rain and only 46 overs were
possible on Day one. Mir Hamza drew the blood first, when he rattled the
stump of opener Zakir Hasan for duck before Nasim Shah came to the party.
Nasim took the prized scalp of Mominul and Mushfiqur, making Bangladesh three
down for 53 runs.
However, despite, Joy's huge resistance, Bangladesh A kept losing wickets at
regular interval to bowl out for paltry total.
Before the bad light brought a premature end to the day, Pakistan Shaheens
reached two for no loss in two overs.
