Sports adviser visits BCB to see the infrastructure facilities

DHAKA, Aug 19, 2024 (BSS)-Youth and Sports adviser Asif Mahmud Sajeeb Bhuiyan today visited Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium to look at the infrastructure facilities of the ground.

He said that he is taking notes about what BCB needs to improve the facilities more. "After getting new responsibility, we are looking at all the facilities under the Ministry of Sports. I was also supposed to go to BKSP today but couldn't go."

"I meet the women's cricket team. They are going to play the Women's Twenty20 World Cup. I took note of the things that BCB needs. I hope we can fix them in the future," he added.

Before sports adviser entered into the stadium premises, Tamim Iqbal who has been away from cricket for a long time, came to stadium. He was with the adviser and guided him while he was visiting the infrastructure facilities.

CEO Nizamuddin Chowdhury greeted the sports adviser and took him to the BCB office. After talking there for a while, the sports adviser started visiting the various facilities in the ground.

"He visited the office and saw the facilities we have. As far as I understand the main point of his coming today is that the adviser may have more plans, may visit other federations soon," he added.

However, Nizamuddin said that there was no discussion about the BCB Interim Committee today.

"There was no specific discussion with anyone. The adviser spoke with several people in the BCB who shared their experiences. And that's just it," the CEO told the reporters.

He, however, added that he doesn't know in what capacity Tamim came here.

"I don't know in what capacity he (Tamim) came here. The adviser was here and he spoke with him. I saw him with the adviser, apart from that I don't know anything about it," he said.

The CEO, meanwhile, oozed with confidence to host the Women's T20 World Cup in due time.

"We are extremely confident that we will be able to organize the Women's T20 World Cup in due time as we have adequate preparation. The government is also very proactive and they have called us about the matter on their first day at office," he said, adding that the ICC is also happy with Bangladesh's preparation.
