DHAKA, Aug 22, 2024 (BSS) - Bangladesh U-20 national football team head coach Maruful Haque said his team still have a chance to bounce back in the SAFF Championship.
Bangladesh suffered a 2-1 goal defeat to host Nepal in their ultimate group A match to finished group runners-up in the SAFF U-20 Championship held at ANFA Complex on Thursday.
Bangladesh already confirmed their spot of last four of the championship. Though Bangladesh lost to Nepal in the group match, but coach Maruful Haque still thinks that all were not finished at all for his team and till have chance to fight back in the championship.
"When we started the play all things were going as per our plan wise because we had a plan to allow Nepal in the first ten to fifteen minute so that Nepal can try to score goal to become group champions. All were going smoothly as per plan but all on sudden after conceding the first goal the boys lost their rhythm and eventually could not fight back in the match from this situation," Maruful said after the post match press conference.
He also congratulated the Nepal side as they won the match as a better side and hoped that his boys would over the day's frustrating result and bounce back in the remaining matches of the championship.
