Nomination papers submission starts tomorrow to contest BFF polls 

DHAKA, Oct 13, 2024 (BSS) – Submission of nomination papers to contest the upcoming Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) polls will start tomorrow (Monday) morning at the BFF secretariat here.

The candidates will get two days to submit their nomination papers on October 14 and 15 to contest the polls. The election will take place on October 26, according to BFF sources.

Sources said the election commission will scrutinise the nomination papers on October 16.

A total of 62 nomination papers were sold in the last three days. Of the total, four nomination papers were sold against the President post, three for Senior Vice-President, 12 for Vice-President and 43 for executive committee member posts.

Former BFF Vice President Tabith Awal along with three others candidates collected nomination papers to contest the Presidency post. 

Grassroots level organiser from Dinajpur district AFM Mizanur Rahman Chowdhury, Mymensingh District Football Association President and former Bangladesh Cricket Board Director SM Abdullah Al Fuad Redwan and Brahmanbaria FC’s councillor Md. 
Shahadat Hossain Jubayer were the other three candidates who also bought nomination papers for the top post (President) of the federation.

SM Abdullah Al Fuad Redwan also bought nomination paper for the post of Vice President.

BFF incumbent Vice President Imrul Hasan, owner of defunct Saif Sporting Club Tarafder Ruhul Amin and Mohammad Monir Hossain bought nomination papers for the senior Vice-President post.

A total of 12 nomination papers were sold against four Vice-Presidents posts, sources said.

Md Naser Shahriar Jahedi, Fahad Mohammad Ahmed Karim, Iqbal Hossen, Sabbir Ahmed Aref, Wahid uddin chowdhury, Rashid Samiul Islam, Syed Rummon Bin Wali Sabbir, S M Abdullah Al Fuad Redwan, Md Shafiqul Islam Manik, Satyajit Das Rupu, Misbah Ahmadbin Samad Chowdhury and Md Syed Hasan Kanan collected nomination papers for the post of Vice President.

The election commission will receive objections against the nominations on October 17 before holding the hearing on October 18.

The withdrawal of candidature will take place on October 19 and 20 and the final list of candidates will be published on October 20, sources added.
