DHAKA, Oct 16, 2024 (BSS)- Bangladesh U-17 national football team head coach Saiful Bari Titu was hopeful with his team as he said their aim is to qualify in the main round of the AFC Asian Cup 2025 qualifiers.

He was speaking at a team’s pre departure press conference held at Bangladesh Football Federation conference room on Wednesday.

Bangladesh U-17 national football team will leave for Cambodia early tomorrow (Thursday) at 3 am to take part in the AFC Asian Cup 2025 Qualifiers.

The coach said he found well-discipline and tendency to learn attitude among the boys during the team’s training session and he hoped the boys would bring a good result from Cambodia.

The Bangladesh head coach predicted that probably the first match against host Cambodia would be crucial because they are absolutely unaware about the strength of their rivals.

Titu however hoped that his boys would show better performance in the tournament than recently concluded SAFF Championship.

Officially the team started practice from October 5 last at Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Prothistan and after that the boys had been taken to Dhaka for the training and finally they finished their practice today (Wednesday) morning, said the Bangladesh coach.

The head coach hoped that presence of former national striker Jahid Hasan Ameli, who is team manager of the Cambodia-bound Bangladesh team, would give extra inspiration to the boys.

Team skipper Nazmul Huda Faisal, who was present in the press conference, said we have finished as runners-up in the SAFF and took lesson from that tournament ….. we have worked on our weakness during the training …  though our opponents are physically superior than us but we’ll make the best use of their mistakes.”

Echoing his coach statement, the Bangladesh captain said they are considering the first match as very important   because by winning the first match there is a chance to do well in the next matches.

Jahid Hasan Ameli, the former national football team striker, who was made manager of Bangladesh U-17 football team for the first time, said the boys already showed their performance in the recently concluded SAFF Championship and proved their ability.

He also hoped that the boys would return home with goods result from Cambodia.
