DHAKA, Oct 19, 2024 (BSS) - Walton-Dhaka Reporters Unity (DRU) Sports Festival, organized by DRU, begins from Monday (Oct 21) with chess event, said a DRU press release.

This time the sports festival will be held in ten events for the men’s members while five events for women’s members, sponsored by Walton Hightech Industries PLC.

The men’s events are chess, carrom (singles), auction bridge, call bridge, rummy, athletics, (200m), shot put, swimming, archery and shooting.

While the women’s events are athletics (100m), carrom (singles), ludu, shooting, and swimming.

In this regards, a press conference was held on Saturday at Sagor-Runi Auditorium to provide all the details of the meet.

DRU president Syed Sukur Ali Shuvo, general secretary Mohi Uddin, Walton Hightech Industries PLC senior executive director FM Iqbal Bin Anwar and DRU sports secretary Mahbubur Rahman, were, among others, present at the press conference.
