BFF election: final list of candidates published

DHAKA, Oct 20, 2024 (BSS) - The chief election commission of Bangladesh 
Football Federation (BFF) on Sunday officially published the final candidates 
list with ballot numbers for the upcoming BFF polls.

As per final candidate list, 46 candidates will compete for the 21 posts of 
the BFF executive committee -- two for the hot seat of president, one for the 
senior vice president, six for vice president and 37 for executive members in 
the BFF polls to be held on October 26.

A total of 133 councilors will exercise their voting right to elect one 
president, one senior vice president, four vice presidents and 15 executive 
members in the election which will be held at Intercontinental from 2 pm to 6 
pm following by its Annual General Meeting (AGM) at the same venue on the 
day.

Renowned businessman and organizer Tarafder Ruhul Amin today (Sunday) 
withdrew his candidature from the post of senior vice president bringing 
allegation about the election on the last of withdrawal of candidature.

Ruhul Amin's withdrawal of candidature from the election means Bashundhara 
Kings president Imrul Hasan is going to be elected unopposed as senior vice-
president.

Two times BFF vice president Tabith Awal and grassroots level organiser from 
Dinajpur district AFM Mizanur Rahman Chowdhury will compete for the hot seat 
of president post in the election. Among the two candidates, Tabith Awal most 
probably is going to elect the next president of BFF. 

He is going to replace long-serving BFF president Kazi Mohammad Salahuddin, 
who earlier declared not to compete in the polls.

Meanwhile, six candidates will compete for the vice president post. 

They Wahid Uddin Chowdhury, Fahad Mohammad Ahmed Karim, Naser Shahriar 
Jahedi, Sabbir Ahmed Aref, Syed Rummon Bin Wali Sabbir and Shafiqul Islam 
Manik.

Senior Vice President: Imrul Hasan (1).
