DHAKA, Oct 9, 2021 (BSS) - Abahani Limited recorded a hard-fought solitary goal victory over their arch-rival Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited in a match of the SIBL Club Cup Hockey tournament held today (Saturday) at Moulana Bhasani National Hockey Stadium in the city.

  In the day's match, Puskar Khisa Mimo scored the all-important goal for Abahani Limited in the dying moment of the match.

  Abahani Limited earlier blanked Police Sporting Club by 5-0 goals while Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited recorded an overwhelming 8-2 goals victory over Ajax Sporting Club both their respective group opening matches.

  Earlier, in the day's first match, Bangladesh Police Football Club played out to a 1-1 goal draw with Ajax Sporting Club held at the same venue.

  In the proceeding, Prosenjit Roy put Ajax SC ahead in the 53rd minute with a field goal while but their lead lasted for few minutes Abdul Malek restored the parity for Police in t he 55th minute also with a field goal.

   A total of eight clubs, split into two groups, are taking part in the meet, organised by Bangladesh Hockey Federation.
