DHAKA, Oct 24, 2024 (BSS)- The visiting Bangladesh national women’s football team in Kathmandu skipped the day’s on ground training and focused on recovery session following their resounding triumph against mighty India in the SAFF Women’s Championship.
After their crucial victory against India, Bangladesh advanced to the semi-finals as the group A champions will play the first semi-finals against the group B runners-up scheduled to be held on Sunday (October 27) at Dasharath Rangasala, Kathmandu.
Speaking to the pressmen today (Thursday), Bangladesh skipper Sabina Khatun said after each match the team has usual routine schedule. The players skipped the training and focused recovery session which included ice batch, swimming and stretching, according to a video message received here today (Thursday) from Bangladesh Football Federation.
“I have always a good chemistry matter with Maria and Monika because if you able to dominate the midfield there has been always difficult for the opponents. I played the last match against India by combining with the duo as well as keeping in touch with the wingers “, the captain said to a questioner.
Bangladesh skipper also revealed their success against India. She said they have previous experience of playing SAFF football and the girls played organized football against India bringing two or three changes in the squad that played against Pakistan.
Replying to a question Sabina said: “I always take advice to my former coach Golam Robbani Choton before any match because the team has fourteen years relation with him and I only conveyed the message to my players to give the best effort to pave the way to the semifinals.”
In the SAFF tournament, the defending champions Bangladesh earlier played out to a 1-1 goal draw with Pakistan in their group opening match and defeated five times SAFF champions India by 3-1 goals in their second group match.
