DHAKA, Nov 10, 2024 (BSS)-Yasir Ali and captain Shahadat Hossain Dipu hit
half-centuries as Chattogram made a strong reply to Barishal in their fourth
round game in the National Cricket League (NCL) today at Cox's Bazar Stadium.
Yasir was batting on 81 while Dipu was on 64 after adding 141 runs for the
undefeated fourth wicket as Chattogram reached 202-3 at stumps on Day 2.
Barishal earlier were bowled out for 318 in its first innings, after resuming
the day at 236-7.
Chattogram are still trailing by 116 runs but with two set batters in the
crease, they kept them in front.
Ruyel Mea claimed two wickets as Barishal left Chattogram at 61-3 to take the
early advantage. But serene batting from Yasir and Dipu drove the side to the
safety and also gave them a hope to earn a significant lead.
Yasir hammered five fours and four sixes for his 105 ball-81 not out while
Dipu sent the ball across the ropes for six times.
Barishal were able to add 82 runs to their overnight total after resuming the
innings with Moin Khan leading the side. He made team-best 77.
Ashraful Hasan had figures of 4-68 while Enamul Haqu Ashiq snapped up 3-31.
