Amite, Shuvataga star in on Day 2 of NCL 4th round

DHAKA, Nov 10, 2024 (BSS)-Amite Hasan became the first batter in the ongoing
National Cricket League (NCL) to hit a double century which put his side
Sylhet in driving seat against Khulna.

Elsewhere, Shuvagata Hom dazzled with allround performance to Dhaka Division
an edge over Dhaka Metro.

The day also saw Yasir Ali and Shahadat Hossain Dipu batting with patience to
help Chattogram recover from a shaky start.

Sylhet vs Khulna

Amite Hasan struck the first double century of the 26th National Cricket
League (NCL) as Sylhet put them in strong position against Khulna Division on
Day 2 at Cox's Bazar Academy Ground today.

Amite who started the day with 109, finally was dismissed for 213 to help
Sylhet declare the innings at 496-7. Khulna reached 3 for no loss at stumps.

Asadullah Galib also hit a century for Sylhet and scored 115 before being
out.

Resuming the day at 244-3, Amite and Galib frustrated Khulna further to keep
the side's nose ahead. They finally put on 251-run for the fourth wicket and
it was broken when Mahedi Hasan got rid of Galib after hitting seven fours
and three sixes in his 242-ball-knock.

Amite soon followed him after completing his first ever double century in the
first class cricket. Before being the sixth batter out, Amite smashed 18
fours and one six for his 213 off 455.

Soon after Amite's dismissal, Sylhet declared the innings.

Fast bowler Ebadot Hossain who returned to the competitive cricket after a
knee operation last year bowled first over to give away two runs.

However Ebadot's fitness will be closely monitored when he would resume the
game for Sylhet tomorrow.

Dhaka Metro vs Dhaka

The game between Dhaka Metro and Dhaka Division was left in parity after Rony
Talukdar and Shuvagata Hom led Dhaka Division's fightback following a poor
start at Sylhet Academy Ground.

254-6 at stumps, still trailing by 50 runs.

to take first innings lead.

Most of the Dhaka Division batters got a start but couldn't convert it to a
big one, leaving the side in danger. Rony stood tall to make 54 off 122 with
seven fours and one six.

After Rony's dismissal, Shuvagata took the onus to drive the side. When the
bails were drawn, Nazmul Islam Apu was batting on 21 with Shuvagata.

Tahjibul Islam scoring most of them. He made 63 before being dismissed.

crease, they kept them in front.

early advantage. But serene batting from Yasir and Dipu drove the side to the
safety and also gave them a hope to earn a significant lead.

innings with Moin Khan leading the side. He made team-best 77.

dismissal sparked a collapse as Rangpur lost three more wickets in quick
succession.

the first innings and Sunzamul Islam took one wicket apiece.
