DHAKA, Nov 14, 2024 (BSS)-Bangladesh Ansar won double crowns in both men's and women's section of 36th National Senior Men's and 10th National Women's Wrestling competition that concluded today (Thursday) at the National Handball Stadium in the capital, said a press release.
In the men's section, Ansar won a total of nine medals including seven gold, one silver and equal number of bronze medal while Border Guard Bangladesh become the runners-up with seven medals including two gold, four silver and one bronze medal.
Bangladesh Army finished at third position securing a total of nine medals including one gold, four silver and equal number of bronze medals.
Ansar also maintained their supremacy in the women's section securing a total of ten medals including six gold, one silver and three bronze medals.
Bangladesh Army became runners-up bagging a total of seven gold including three gold and four bronze medals while Bangladesh Police finished third securing a total of six medals including one gold and five bronze medals.
Bangladesh Ansar team's sports director Md Sazzadur Rahman was the chief guest in the closing ceremony and distributed the prizes.
Bangladesh Amateur Wrestling Federation general secretary Tabiur Rahman Palowan and other federation officials were also present there.
A total of 300 male and female players from different districts across the country took part in the twenty weight categories of the two-day meet.
