DHAKA, Nov 16, 2024 (BSS)-The first half between Bangladesh and Maldives of
the two-match FIFA Int'l Friendlies ended in a 1-1 goal draw at held
Bashundhara Kings Sports Arena on Saturday.
Ali Fasir, the hero of Maldives in the first match, again gave his team a
deserving lead in the 23rd minute. Taking a through pass from Ibrahim, Fasir
sent the ball to home with a left footer placing shot from inside the danger
zone after taking the opportunity of mistake by defender Topu Barman.
Bangladesh however came close of scoring in the 39th minute when Faisal Ahmed
Fahim shot from the D-box off a cross from Rakib Hossain from the left flank
was brilliantly saved by Maldives custodian Hussain Shareef.
Bangladesh finally fought back in the match when Mojibor Rahman Jony restored
the parity in the 42nd minute. Taking a close pass from Fahim, Jony sent the
ball to the net with a powerful right footer angular shot from the top of the
D box after dodging past a defender. Maldives custodian Hussain Shareef tried
to grip the ball diving his right but could save the goal.
Earlier, Bangladesh's playing eleven against touring Maldives has been
revealed making one change.
Midfielder Mojibor Rahman Jonny has been included in the playing eleven in
replace of Syed Shah Quazem Kirmanee who played the first match.
Midfielder Sohel Rana will lead Bangladesh in this match in replace of Topu
Barmon who captained the first match against the Maldives.
Bangladesh must have to win in the second match to save the series following
their frustrating 1-0 defeat against Maldives in the first match held on
Wednesday last.

Foysal Ahmed Fahim, Mitul Marma, Shakil Ahad Topu, Sohel Rana (captain), Isa
