DHAKA, Nov 16, 2024 (BSS)-Barishal rode on three half-century to reach 266-7
against Rangpur on Day 1 of the fifth round game of National Cricket League
(NCL) at Rajshahi Stadium today.

Opener Iftekhar Hossain Ifti continued his rich vein of form by making 70
while Salman Hossain Emon scored 67. Tasamul Haque was the other one to make
51.

After being asked to bat first, Barishal were reduced to 43-3 before Ifti and
Emon shared 111-run for the fourth wicket to rescue the side.

However Rangpur hit back, claiming the wicket of those two set batters in
quick succession.

Tasamul, ably supported by Sohag Gazi who made 35, helped the side claw back
into the game again.

Skipper Tanvir Islam was batting on 6 with Moin Khan who is yet to score at
stumps.
