RANGAMATI, Nov 23, 2024 (BSS)- Three golden girls -– Rupna Chakma, Rituporna Chakma and Monika Chakma -- of SAFF winning Bangladesh women’s football team were accorded a mass reception here today (Saturday). 

Rangamati district administration, Army region, Chattogram Hill Tracts Development Board, Hill District Council, District Police Administration jointly organized the reception held at Rangamati Ching Hla Mong Mari Stadium.

Rangamati Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Mosharaf Hossain Khan, Rangamati Zilla Parishad Chairman Kajal Talukdar and district police superintendent Dr. SM Farhad Hossain handed over taka three lakhs to each player with honorary memento on behalf of Rangamati district administration, Rangamati army region and hill district council.

Rangamati Municipal Administrator Nasreen Sultana handed over Taka 50,000 along with memento to each player on behalf of the municipality while district BNP President Dipan Talukder, its General Secretary Md. Mamunur Rashid along with various level leaders of BNP handed over an honorary memento on behalf of the district unit of BNP.

District Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Abdul Alim and General Secretary Mansurul Haque on behalf of District Jamaat-e-Islami handed over an honorary memento to the girls.

Earlier, the three girl footballers started their journey from the field of Rangamati Ghagra High School with a motorcycle procession along with a decorated truck and passed through different part of city.

Later, a cultural program was organized performed by local artistes.
