DHAKA, Nov 24, 2024 (BSS) - The closing ceremony of Lovello Cup Armed Forces Day Golf Tournament-2024 was held at the Army Golf Club, Dhaka Cantonment on Saturday.

Lieutenant General Mohammad Shahinul Haque, Commandant, National Defence College was present as the chief guest and distributed prizes among the winners of the tournament, said a press release of ISPR.

Speaking at the ceremony, he expressed his hope such competition will play an important role in the development of the country's golf.

He also extended his gratitude to everyone involved organizing this event.

A total of 784 golfers participated in this tournament. Major Md. Nazmul Haque Madol won the championship. Besides, Brig Gen AKM Masud (retd) became champion in the veteran category, while Lt Gen Md. Shafiqur Rahman (retd) in the senior category, Shayla Ahsan in the ladies category, and Mehnan Tasin Rahman won the junior category.

Senior officers of the Bangladesh Army, the Chief Executive Officer of the Army Golf Club, Chairman of the Tournament Committee, members of the Executive Committee, and other distinguished personalities, including players and media persons, were present at the closing ceremony.
