DHAKA, Nov 25, 2024 (BSS)- Fast bowler Taskin Ahmed took two wickets for 26 runs but West Indies extended its lead to 242 runs by reaching 61-3 at lunch on Day 4 of the first cricket Test against Bangladesh at Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in Antigua today.
At the first interval of the day, Alick Athanaze was batting on 16 with Kevam Hodge on 10.

His fellow pacer Shoriful Islam took the prized scalp of Kraigg Brathwaite for 23, leaving West Indies 39-3.
Athanaze survived once when Mominul Haque dropped him at short leg off the bowling of Mehidy Hasan Miraz.
However Athanaze and Hodge saw off the session without any trouble later.
Earlier, Bangladesh declared their first innings at 269-9 despite trailing by 181 runs.
The Tigers were expected to bat on Day 4 but surprisingly they declared with overnight total. The reason for the declaration is yet to be known.
Fast bowler Taskin Ahmed and Shoriful Islam were in the crease with 11 and 5 runs respectively.
It is predicted that to prevent those two important fast bowlers from getting injured and keep them completely fresh, the team management decided to declare the innings.
Bangladesh rode on two half-centuries with Jaker Ali making team-best 53 and Mominul Haque scoring 50. Liton Das was the other notable scorer with 40.
Alzzari Joseph claimed 3-69 while Jayden Seals and Justin Greaves took two wickets apiece.
