DHAKA, Nov 29, 2024 (BSS)- Brothers Union made winning start in the Bashundhara Group Bangladesh Premier League Football beating Bangladesh Police Football Club by 2-1 goals held at Shaheed Birsahreshtha Flight Motiur Rahman Stadium in Munshiganj on Friday.
Gambian forward Maxi Cessay and his compatriot midfielder Zakaria Darboe scored one goal each for Brothers while Manik Hossain Molla netted a lone goal for Police FC.
The match was locked 1-1 at the breather.
Mady Cessay opened an account scoring the first goal for Brothers in the 23rd minute while Mollah restored the parity in the 44th minute of the match.
After the break, Zakaria sealed the victory scoring the second goal for Brothers Union in the 62nd minute of the match.
Police FC however tried their best to stage a fight back in the match but could not score any in the remaining proceeding and eventually they had to leave the field with empty hand.
Brothers Union will play their next match against Fortis Football Club on December 7 at Bashundhara Kings Arena while Police FC will meet Fakirerpool Youngmen’s Club on the same day at Rafiq Uddin Bhuiyan Stadium.
Tomorrow two games of the Premier League will be held. In the first match Rahmatganj Muslim and Friends Society will meet Fortis Football Club at Birshreahtha Flight Lieutenant Matiur Rahman Stadium in Munshiganj at 2.30 pm. Second match will be held between Fakirerpool Youngmen’s Club vs Abahani Limited Dhaka at Shaheed Barkat Stadium in Gazipur at 2.30 pm.
