DHAKA, Nov 29, 2024 (BSS) - Holders Bashundhara Kings got off to a auspicious start as they blew Chittagong Abahani Limited away by 7-0 goals in the Bashundhara Kings Bangladesh Premier League began here today (Friday).
Held at Bashundhara Kings Arena, French forward Jared Khasa and forward Rakib Hossain struck twice each while forward Faysal Ahmed Fahim, Brazilian midfielder Miguel Figueira and midfielder Mojibur Rahman Jony scored a lone goal apiece for Kings.
Kings went attack early and got reap when French forward Jared Khasa scored the first goal in the 3rd minute of the match.
Forward Foysal Ahmed Fahim doubled the lead scoring the second goal for Kings in the 23rd minute while Miguel Figueira further widened Kings’ margin scoring the third goal in the 29th minute.
Jared Khasa further extended the lead scoring his second and fourth goal for Kings in the 39th minute.
After the resumption, Kings continued their onslaught and added the remaining three goals in the second half when Jony scored the fifth goal in the 70th minute.
Rakib made the score line 6-0 in the 72nd minute while he completed the tally scoring his second and seventh goal for Kings in the 83rd minute of the match.
Kings will play their nest match against Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited on December 6 at Dhirendranath Datta Stadium in Cumilla while Chittagong Abahani Limited meet Rahmatganj Muslim and Friends Society on the same day at Rafiq Uddin Bhuiyan Stadium in Mymensingh.
Saturday’s matches: Rahmatganj Muslim and Friends Society vs Fortis Football Club at Birshreahtha Flight Lieutenant Matiur Rahman Stadium in Munshiganj at 2.30 pm and Fakirerpool Youngmen’s Club vs Abahani Limited Dhaka at Shaheed Barkat Stadium in Gazipur at 2.30 pm.
