DHAKA, Nov 4, 2024 (BSS)-Bangladesh Hockey Federation (BHF) president and Air Chief Marshal Hasan Mahmood Khan today greeted Bangladesh Youth Hockey Team for qualifying FIH Hockey Junior (Jr) World Cup, said an ISPR press release .
Bangladesh qualified for the Junior World Cup for the first time in the history of country’s hockey by defeating Thailand 7-2 in the Junior Hockey Asia Cup, held in Oman on Tuesday.
The achievement is extraordinary milestone for Bangladesh hockey team.
It is noted that even during the transitional period of the country, the BHF president ensured the participation of the men's and women's hockey teams in the Jr.
Hockey Asia Cup in Oman wiping out financial crisis.
For the players, the BHF president provided suitable coaches, quality equipment, training jerseys and nutritious food, which played an important role in boosting their mental strength.
He also organized timely advanced training camp to meet the training gaps of the hockey team and organized significant warm-up matches with the hockey teams of the Army, Navy and Air Force.
As a result, the players were able to participate in Junior Asia Cup Hockey with full preparation.
The BHF president and Chief of Bangladesh Air Force also gave motivation and necessary guidance to the players before the hockey team left Bangladesh for Oman.
Bangladesh hockey team can be expected to go further with his sincere efforts and efficiency in the development of hockey.
