THAKURGAON, Dec 5, 2024 (BSS)- A horse race competition was held at Farabari Atimkhana ground on Wednesday last.

Thousands of visitors from nearby villages and faraway places gathered to watch the competition.
    
A total of forty competitors, divided into A, B and C groups, participated in the meet, organized by Akcha union BNP purbo shakha sadar upazila.

Group 'A' and 'B' advanced to the final and Group 'B' horsemen emerged champions after beating Group A. Competitors from different districts including Panchagarh, Dinajpur, Shariatpur took part in the game.

District BNP Vice President Obaidullah Masud was present in the competition as the chief guest presided over by Union BNP president Mizanur Rahman Manik.

Sadar upazila BNP president Abdul Hamid, general secretary Mahabub Hossain Tuhin, sadar jubadal president Rezaul Karim Liton were present as special guests. 

Leaders and activists of upazila and union BNP and organizations were also present there. 

Spectators are excited to enjoy the horse racing competition after almost a decade. They demand such an arrangement every year because this competition is like a big festival in the rural environment.
