DHAKA, Dec 7, 2024 (BSS)-Pace bowler Tanzim Hasan Sakib joined the Bangladesh
team in St Kitts, West Indies to further bolster the side's bowling strength.
The pacer who missed Afghanistan ODI series due to his injury, returned to
competitive cricket with Global Super League T20 in Providence, West Indies.
Even though Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) team Rangpur Riders took part in
the tournament and eventually clinched the title, Tanzim played for Guyana
Amazon Warriors. His side however couldn't make it final but Tanzim claimed
six wickets in four matches.
"The Global Super League was my first experience to play franchise cricket
outside of the country. I enjoyed a lot here," Tanzim said in a video message
posted by the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) today.
"The mantra to do well in any part of the world is to bowl well, to land the
ball in right place. I just tried my best to do well. I missed cricket due to
my injury. But now I feel completely fit. I am also well psychologically."
Tanzim has so far taken 12 wickets in seven ODIs for Bangladesh. But with
Taskin Ahmed, Hasan Mahmud, Shoriful Islam and Nahid Rana in outstanding
form, it is bit tough for Tanzim to make a room in the best XI when
Bangladesh will take on West Indies for the three-match ODI series opener
tomorrow (Sunday) at St Kitts.
