DHAKA, Dec 12, 2024 (BSS)-The Victory Day Int’l Rating Chess competition begins tomorrow (Friday) at the hall room of post office Bhaban, Sher-e-Bangla Nagar, Agargaon in the capital, said a Bangladesh Chess Federation (BCF)press release here.   
Muhammad Hiruzzaman, Additional Secretary (Administration Wing) of the Ministry of Youth and Sports is expected to inaugurate the competition as the chief guest at 2.30 pm. 

Bangladesh Police DIG and BCF Vice President Shoeib Reaz Alam and Dhaka North City Corporation Secretary Mohammed Masud Alam Siddique will present there as the special guests. 

BCF President and former Secretary Syed Shujauddin Ahmed will preside over the inauguration ceremony.

The competition will be held in a nine-round Swiss-league format, organized by BCF.

More than 250 chess players are participating in the meet and the winners will be given a total cash prize of Taka two lakh.
