DHAKA, Dec 13, 2024 (BSS)- Yonex-sunrise Bangladesh Jr. Int'l Badminton Series has begun from today (Friday) at Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmed Indoor Stadium in the capital.

Youth and Sports Secretary Rezaul Maksud Jahedi formally inaugurated the meet as the chief guest while National Sports Council secretary Aminul Islam was present there as the special guest.

Bangladesh Badminton Federation acting president Qamrun Nahar Dana presided over the opening ceremony.

A total of 92 shutllers -- 67 of boys and 25 of girls -- from three countries -- host Bangladesh, India and Indonesia -- are taking part in the junior tournament.

The junior tournament included five categories. The categories are women's, men's singles and doubles as well as mixed doubles. Prize money of U$ 5,000 will be given in the junior tournament.
