DHAKA, Dec 14, 2024 (BSS)- Holders Bashundhara Kings registered their second
victory in the Bashundhara Group Bangladesh Premier League football beating
Rahmatganj Muslim and Friends Society by 4-1 goals held at Bashundhara Kings
Arena in the capital on Saturday.
Brazilian midfielder Fernandes put Kings ahead early in the 10th minute but
the lead lasted for couple of minutes as forward Nabib Newaj Jibon restored
the parity for Rahmatganj in the 12th minute of the match.
Kings again took the lead when another Brazilian midfielder Miguel Figueira
scored the second goal in the 45+1st minute from a spot kick.
After the breather, Sohel further widened the margin scoring the third goal
in the 53rd minute while Topu Borman sealed the victory scoring the fourth
goal for Kings.
The day's win saw Kings raised their tally to six points from three matches
while the traditional old Dhaka outfit Rahmatganj remained at their previous
collection of six points playing the same number of matches.
Bashundhara Kings will play their next match against Abahani Limited, Dhaka
on December 20 while Rahmatganj will meet Brothers Union Club on December 21.
Earlier, Bashundhara Kings made winning start in the league thrashing
Chittagong Abahani Limited by 7-0 goals in their league opening match but
they suffered a 1-0 goal defeat to Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited in their
second match.
While Rahmatganj Muslim and Friends Society beat Fortis Football Club by 3-1
goals in their league opening match and blanked Chittagong Abahani Limited by
2-0 goals in their second match.
