DHAKA, Dec 18, 2024 (BSS)- Bangladeshi shuttler Rehena Khatun failed to reach
quarterfinals of the Younex-sunrise Bangladesh Sr. International Badminton
Series held at Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmed Indoor Stadium in the capital today
(Wednesday).
In the women's singles pre quarterfinal match, Rehena Khatun of Bangladesh
eliminated from the tournament after losing to her Indian rival Naisha Kore
Vatye 21-8, 21-9.
In the remaining women's singles pre quarterfinal matches, Polina Brurova of
Ukraine defeated Anna Yaki of Japan 21-16, 13-21 and 21-14, Eshika Jaishowash
of America beat Annapat Pichicitesak of Thailand 21-12, 21-17, Eshina Negi of
India beat Pancheli Adhikari of Sri Lanka 21-15, 21-17, Yanhaniya Kantemar of
Ukraine beat Farza Nazrin of India 21-14, 18-21 and 21-12 and Larinolat
Chaiwan of Thailand Defeated Disa Santosh of India 21-9, 21-10 to reach the
quarterfinals.
In the day's men's singles matches, Vishal Bashudevan of India beat Ashansha
Harath of Sri Lanka by 21-16,21-12, Biren Natasinghe of Sri Lanka defeated
Chou Uwan Soon of Malaysia 21-8, 21-15 and Le Tu Pat of Vietnam outclassed
Sai Prasad Trigala of India 21-13, 21-17 to move into the quarterfinals.
The more pre quarterfinal matches were in progress till the report filling on
this evening.
A total of 140 shuttlers -- 112 men and 28 women -- from 14 countries are
participating in the five-day meet.
The participating countries are India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Canada,
Vietnam, Uganda, Japan, Sri Lanka, America, England, Singapore, Ukraine and
host Bangladesh.
