DHAKA, Dec 20, 2024 (BSS)- Mohammedan Sporting Club recorded their fourth straight win in the Bashundhara Group Bangladesh Premier League football beating Bangladesh Police Football Club by 3-1 goals in a match held at Rafiq Uddin Bhuiyan Stadium in Mymensingh on Friday.
In the day's match, Nigerian defender Emmanuel Tony Agbaji, his compatriot Sunday Emmanuel and Malian forward Souleymane Diabate scored one goal each for Mohammedan who led the first half by 2-1 goals.
Forward Al Amin netted a lone goal for Police FC.
Agbaji opened an account scoring the first goal for Mohammedan in the 31st minute while forward Sunday doubled the lead scoring the second goal in the 39th minute of the match.
Al Amin reduced the margin scoring a lone goal in the 45+2nd minute while after the breather Diabate sealed the victory scoring the third goal for Mohammedan in the 71st minute of the match.
Police however tried their best to stage a fight back it he match but they failed to score any goal in the remaining proceeding.
Mohammedan clearly dominated the proceeding and notched their deserving victory on the day while Police FC, who suffered their second defeat in the league with the day's result, were off colored except the day's lone goal.
The day's win saw the traditional black and white Motijheel outfit Mohammedan raise their tally to 12 points from four matches while Bangladesh Police FC remained at their previous collection of six points playing the same number of outings.
Mohammedan earlier beat Dhaka Wanderer Club 6-0 and edged past Bashundhara Kings and Abahani Limited Dhaka by an identical margin of 1-0 goal.
While Bangladesh Police Football Club lost by 2-1 goals to Brothers Union in their league opening match, defeated Fakirerpool Young Men's Club by 4-1 goals and blanked Dhaka Wanderers Club by 4-0 goals.
On Saturday Brothers Union will take on old Dhaka outfit Rahmatganj Muslim and Friends Society at Bir Flight Lieutenant Matiur Rahman Stadium in Munshiganj, Fortis Football Club meet Dhaka Wanderers Club at Bashundhara Kings Arena in the capital and Chittagong Abahani Limited play against Fakirerpool Young Men's Club at Rafiq Uddin Bhuiyan Stadium in Mymensingh.
All the matches kick off at 2.30 pm.
