DHAKA, Dec 26, 2024 (BSS)-Shahjalal Islami Bank Victory Day Tennis
competition begins from tomorrow (Friday) at National Tennis court complex in
the capital.

Abdul Hai Sarkar Prodhan, chairman of Purbani Group and president of
Bangladesh Tennis Federation (BTF), will formally inaugurate the eight-day
meet, which will be held marking the victory day.

Organized by BTF, the competition of the events will include men's singles,
men's doubles, women's singles, women's doubles, boys' singles U-18, girls'
singles U-18, boys' singles U-14 and girls' singles U-14.

A total of Taka 3,35,000 (Three lakh thirty five thousand) cash reward will
be given for men's singles, women's singles, men's doubles and women's
doubles events.

In addition, trophies and certificates will be awarded to the winning players
of all events.
 
210 players from 30 clubs/associations have already sent their entries.

In this regards, a press conference was held on Thursday at conference room
of Bangladesh Tennis Federation to provide all the details of the meet.  

BTF vice president Ashrafuzzaman Khan (Puton), its general secretary Ishtiaq
Ahmed Karen, tournament director Shofiqul Islam Sorkar and Shahjalal Islami
Bank PLC vice president Mohammad Younus, were among others, present at the
press conference.
