DHAKA, Dec 27, 2024 (BSS) - Off spinner Nayeem Hasan has said he is eagerly waiting to play under the leadership of Tamim Iqbal in the upcoming Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) because it's always a lot of fun to share the dressing with the veteran.
 
"I have played with him in the past. It was a lot of fun playing under him. When he was in the national team, it was still (fun). When he is in the team, you always get special support," Nayeem said after the practice session of Fortune Barishal today at PKSP. 

Nayeem, who also hailed from Chattogram like Tamim Iqbal are playing for Fortune Barisal in this year's BPL.

The franchise became champions last year under Tamim's leadership. This time too, Barisal has formed a very strong team to retain the title/ 
Last year Nayeem played for Comilla Victorians.

Barishal were seen practicing in match scenarios on the first day of their training. The team has full of star cricketers and almost all the domestic cricketers played in the recently concluded NCL T20. 

"Actually, we played in the NCL T20 match. So we've been in the continuous cricket. That's why we did a match scenario practice session," he said. 

Regarding getting a chance in the playing XI, he said, "The competition is high. It is good for our team. Everyone has to give 100 percent from their place. Because someone can replace someone anytime. But if there's more competition, it brings out the best of the players."
