DHAKA, Dec 27, 2024 (BSS)-Opener Murshida Khatun struck a 122 not out to
become the fourth female batter to hit a first class century as her side
Central Zone made a strong reply to East Zone on Day 2 of the second round
game of the Bangladesh Cricket League (BCL) today at Shaheed Kamruzzaman
Stadium in Rajshahi.
Thanks to Murshida's unbeaten knock, Central Zone reached 242-2 in reply to
East Zone's 354 all out in the first innings. With just one-day of the game
being left, the match looked destined toward a draw but Murshida has the
chance to go past Nigar Sultana Joty's 153 runs, which so far remains highest
score for a Bangladeshi female batter in this format.
Joty who became the first Bangladeshi female batter to hit first class
century was not out on 65 with Murshida at stumps.
Earlier resuming the day at 316-8, East Zone were bowled out for 354. Opener
Dilara Dola made 102.
The match between South Zone and North Zone looked to produce a result at
Bangla Trac Cricket Academy Ground in Rajshahi today after North Zone reached
95-4 to take overall 113 runs lead.
Resuming the day at 51-2, South Zone were bowled out for 220, conceding an
18-run first innings lead as North Zone were bundled out for 238.
