DHAKA, Dec 28, 2024 (BSS)- Abahani Limited registered their fourth victory in 
the Bashundhara Group Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) football when they beat 
Bangladesh Police Football Club by 2-0 goals held at Bhasha Shoinik Shaheed 
Dhirendranath Datta Stadium in Cumilla on Saturday.
 
In the proceeding, forwards Arman Foysal Akash and Shahriar Emon scored one 
each for Abahani Limited who led the first half by 1-0 goal. 
Akash put Abahani Limited ahead in the 23rd minute and Emon sealed the 
victory scoring the second goal in the 89th minute after the resumption of 
the match.

Police, who suffered their third defeat with the day's outcome, failed to 
produce any real move in the proceeding and eventually they had to leave the 
field with empty hand.

The day's win saw that the traditional sky blue Dhanmondi outfit Abahani 
raised their tally to 12 points from five matches while Bangladesh Police 
Football Club remained at their previous credit of six points playing the 
same number of matches.
 
Earlier, Abahani Limited beat Fakirerpool Young Men's Club by 2-0 goals in 
their league opening match, edged past Dhaka Wanderers Club by 1-0 goal in 
their second match, lost to arch rival Mohammedan by 1-0 goal and defeated 
holders Bashundhara Kings by 1-0 goal.

Abahani will play their next match against Fortis Football Club on January 3 
while Bangladesh Police Football Club will face holders Bashundhara Kings on 
the same day.
