Aliss wants to translate his NCL T20 form to BPL

DHAKA, Dec 28, 2024 (BSS)- Offspinner Aliss Al Islam vowed to hog the
limelight again by translating his NCL T20 form to the upcoming Bangladesh
Premier League (BPL), which starts on Monday.

Aliss performed brilliantly in the last BPL by grabbing nine wickets in eight
matches including four for 17 runs in the match against Sylhet Strikers.
Immediately after the tournament, he was called up to the national team.

But a finger injury sidelined him. After that unfortunate incident, he could
not come into the limelight for almost a year. However, Aliss is back in the
limelight with the recently concluded NCL T20.

He took 14 wickets in 10 matches for Dhaka Metro by giving away just 5.32
runs per over. He will play for Chittagong Kings in this BPL.

"When I got called up to the national team, the injury sidelined me for an
extened period. I missed the Sri Lanka series and even our Dhaka Premier
League. And after the Premier League, we usually do not have matches.

I did
not play the four-day NCL. I started with the NCL T20," he said after the
practice session of Chittagong Kings.

"Before this, I was on a tour of Australia and Oman. Both tours went well.
The team did well in Australia, and I did well. Everything went well during
the Oman tour as well.

I believe if I had played, I would have definitely
come into the limelight.

I tried to play well in NCL T20 and you have seen
the result," he continued.

While the injury ruined his dream to play national team, Aliss said it's a
normal thing for him now.

"I got injured many times and now it became normal for me," he said.

He said during the time of his rehabilitation, selector Hannan Sarkar was in
touch with him.

"Actually, there are always talks with the selectors. Especially with Hannan
Bhai. I discussed about cricket with him. We also talked about things outside
of cricket.

Everything is under control. Now I need a good opportunity. I
have to perform well. The national team call up is not easier one," he
remarked.

"It is not like I have got the opportunity once and it will be easy for me
again. If I want to play for the national team again, I have to prove myself.
BPL is a good platform. Another opportunity has come to prove myself. I will
try my best," he added.
