DHAKA, Jan 3, 2024 (BSS)-Chittagong Kings opener Usman Khan revealed that 
their plan was to be alert against Taskin, knowing that the pacer has been in 
top form at this moment.

Taskin who had claimed record-shattering 7-19 in the previous match to lead 
Rajshahi to an eight-wicket win over Dhaka Capitals in less than 24 hours 
ago, also started with bang against Chittagong.

He removed Parvez Hossain Emon for duck in the second ball but Usman dealt 
with him astutely to keep him unscathed. Taskin later returned to his second 
spell in the last power play but by then Usman completed his century to take 
the side past 200 already.

Taskin eventually removed Usman to end his 62 ball-123 runs knock to finish 
with 2-22. He was the only bowler in his side to concede less than six runs 
per over amid Chittagong's run-fest. However Usman's marauding knock steered 
Chittagong to 219-5 and eventually helped them register 105-run victory, 
which was second largest victory in BPL history. 

 'First of all, I thank Allah. I enjoyed it very much. The wicket was good. I 
thought I would play a long innings. I tried that way," he said during the 
match presentation ceremony. 

"The thing was that Taskin Ahmed is a good bowler, so our plan was to stay 
alert," Usman said about Taskin who conceded 11 runs in first two overs for a 
wicket of Emon.

But Usman hit Taskin two fours in his second over before the captain 
preserved the pacer for the last power play. 

"His first two overs were very good. I tried to get my eye in and when I got 
the hand-eye combination right, I tried to play long innings"

It was Usman's second century in BPL, having hit his first in the last season 
when he played for Chattogram Challengers and struck 58 ball-103 against 
Khulna Tigers. 

 'We are having a lot of fun. I have played here before (in Chittagong albeit 
with different owner). The management is very good, so I am enjoying it very 
much," he said.
