DHAKA, Jan 12, 2025 (BSS) - Liton Das and Tanzid Hasan Tamim hit centuries and shared a record breaking stand in Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) history as Dhaka Capitals crushed Durbar Rajshahi by 149 runs to snap its six-match losing streak at Sylhet International Cricket Stadium today.
Liton who reached the three-figure mark in just 44 balls – which is the fastest ever for a Bangladeshi batter in BPL and second fastest overall was unbeaten on 125 off 55, clobbering 10 fours and nine sixes.
Liton indeed responded with this stylish century a few hours after he was dropped from the Champions Trophy-bound squad.
His opening partner Tanzid Hasan Tamim hammered 64 ball-108 with six fours and eight sixes. It was his second ton in BPL, having previously struck 116 for Chattogram Challengers in the last BPL.

The partnership was only broken when three balls were left to finish the innings as Shafiul Islam who conceded record 62 runs in his four overs dismissed Tanzid.

Durbar Rajshahi however crumbled under avalanche of the runs and eventually were bowled out for just 105 in 15.2 overs to concede their fourth defeat in six matches. Ryan Burl was the top-scorer for the side with 32 ball-47 not out.
