CHATTOGRAM, Jan 15, 2025 (BSS)- After their epic win in the last match, which
snapped their six-match losing streak, Dhaka Capitals are seeking to carry
the momentum in Chattogram, said opener Tanzid Hasan Tamim.

In Chattogram phase, Dhaka will play three matches, starting with Fortune
Barishal tomorrow (Thursday) at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium.

Dhaka posted a 149-run victory over Durbar Rajshahi after racking up BPL high
254-1 in the previous match, thanks to centuries of Liton Das and Tanzid
Hasan Tamim.

"We want to carry the momentum after getting a big win in the last match,"
Tanzid who blasted 64 ball-108 to complement Liton Das' record-breaking 55
ball-125 not out, told the reporters here today.

While Tanzid hopes to carry the momentum, Dhaka will be tough task at hands,
given the opponents' Barishal are not only the defending champions but also a
tough oppositions.

But after that groundbreaking performance in the last match, there was sense
of belief that Dhaka could do something remarkable.

"There will be pressure whenever you go to play any match," Tanzid said.

"Whoever can handle the pressure and stay as relaxed as much as possible,
they will emerge as winner. So we will try to be as steady as we can to give
ourselves a chance."

"If we think about a big match, then there will be a lot of pressure. But if
we think it as just another match, then tomorrow will be a match like the
previous one. We will try as best as we can and if we can carry the momentum
of the first win, then we can expect something good."

Personally Tanzid also wants to carry his form into the next match, saying
that the mantra is to play well in the powerplay.

"In the previous few innings, I started well but could not carry on," the
young opener said. "Then I realized that if I can use the power play well and
then give myself some time, it will fetch me good result. That is what I
tried in the last match and I thrived in. I will try to play the next matches
with the same plan."

He struck eight sixes in that knock and even though the boundary was shorter,
some of his sixes would have been big six in any boundary of the world.
Tanzid said there is no secret of his sixes as he tried to play according to
the merit of the ball, "There is no secret to hitting sixes. I always try to
play according to the merit. If it's my zone, I will definitely try to
dispatch it out of the park."
