DHAKA, Jan 17, 2025 (BSS)- Fakirerpool Young Men’s Club recorded their second win in the Bashundhara Group Bangladesh Premier League football beating Dhaka Wanderers Club by 4-1 goals in a match held at Shaheed Barkat Stadium in Gazipur on Friday.
In the day’s match, forward Rafayel Tudu, Uzbek midfielder Evgeniy Kochnev and his compatriots Sardor Jakhonov and forward Akobir Turaev scored one goal each for Fakirerpool while forward Sakib Bepari netted a lone goal for Wanderers.
Tudu opened an account scoring the first goal for Fakirerpool in the 17th minute while after the breather Evgeniy Kochnev doubled the lead scoring the second goal in the 49th minute of the match.
Midfielder Sardor Jakhonov further widened the Fakirerpool margin scoring the third goal in the 70th minute while Akobir made the score line 4-0 from a spot kick in the 83rd minute of the match.
Sakib pulled one back for Wanderers scoring a lone goal in the 90+3rd minute.
With the day’s win, Fakirerpool raised their tally to eight points from eight matches while Wanderers remained at their previous collection of four points playing the same number of matches.
Earlier, Fakirerpool suffered 2-0 defeat to Abahani Limited Dhaka, lost 4-1 to Bangladesh Police FC, went down 3-0 to Fortis Football Club, beat Chittagong Abahani Limited by 2-0 goals, suffered 6-1 defeat to Rahmatganj Muslim and Friends Society, lost 3-0 to Brothers Union Club and suffered 4-1 defeat to holders Bashundhara Kings.
While Dhaka Wanderers Club earlier suffered 6-0 defeat to Mohammedan in their league opening match, conceded 1-0 defeat to Abahani Limited Dhaka and suffered 4-0 defeat to Bangladesh Police Football Club, played out to a 1-1 goal draw with Fortis Football Club, suffered 1-0 defeat to Dhaka Wanderers Club, lost 6-1 to Rahmatganj and conceded 4-1 defeat to Brothers Union.
Saturday’s matches: Abahani Limited Dhaka vs Rahmatganj Muslim and Friends Society at Munshiganj Stadium (2.45 pm) and Bashundhara Kings vs Fortis Football Club at Bashundhara Kings Arena (2.45 pm).
