BHOLA, Jan 23, 2025 (BSS) - The final match of National Gold Cup Football Tournament (U-17 boys', girls') was held at Bhola government college ground today (Thursday).

Seven upazilas and Bhola municipality of the district teams participated in meet, organized by the Bhola district administration and district sports office with the aim of building a new Bangladesh under the slogan of 'Let's change the country, change the world'.

In the boys' group final, Bhola sadar upazila emerged champions beating Charfashion upazila by 2-0 goals.

While in the girls' group, Bhola Municipality girls' team emerged champions defeating Bhola Sadar upazila in penalty shootout in the keenly contested final.

Bhola additional deputy commissioner Mobaswer Alam distributed the prizes among the winners after the finals. Bhola government college acting principal professor Muhammad Mohiuddin was present there as guest of honour.

Additional superintendent of police (sadar circle) Ripon Chandra Sarkar, district sports officer Saidul Islam, Bhola district sports association former general secretary Yarul Alam Liton, it's additional general secretary Muntasir Alam Chowdhury Rabin and ad-hoc committee member of district sports association Talha Talukder Bandhan, were among others, also present in the prize distribution ceremony.

A total of sixteen teams -- fourteen teams from seven upazilas of the district and two teams from Bhola municipality -- participated in the tournament.
