MIAMI GARDENS, United States, March 22, 2025 (BSS/AFP) - World number three Carlos Alcaraz crashed out of the Miami Open in his first outing on Friday, with Belgian veteran David Goffin pulling off a shock 5-7, 6-4, 6-3 win at Hard Rock Stadium.
Alcaraz wasn't convincing with his serve, despite winning the first set but began to struggle against the 55th-ranked Goffin in the second and simply wasn't able to rediscover his game.
Goffin was inspired, breaking Alcaraz on his first service game in the third set and with the Spaniard littering his game with unforced errors, the Belgian had a night to remember.
