DPL set to restart tomorrow after Eid break

DHAKA, April 5, 2025 (BSS)- The Dhaka Premier League (DPL) is set to resume
tomorrow (Sunday) after a lengthy Eid-ul-Fitr break with the teams gearing up
for cementing their Super Six spot.

Top six teams in the point table will play the Super Six phase after the
group phase in which all teams will play 11 matches. The points of the group
phase will be carried in the Super Six.

Defending Champions Abahani Limited, which tops the point table with seven
wins from eight matches, will take on Shinepukur Cricket Club at BKSP-3
ground to further bolster their place.

Mohammedan Sporting Club will face Prime Bank Cricket Club at Sher-e-Bangla
National Cricket Stadium. Mohammedan, which formed a formidable team in this
year, so far won six matches from eight, which put them in third place in the
point table.

The match against Prime Bank is particularly crucial for them to not only
bolster their position for the Super Six phase but also imperative for
keeping them in the race of the DPL silverware, which they didn't win since
2008.

In the day's another match, Dhanmondi Sports Club will lock horns with
Gulshan Cricket Club at BKSP-4 ground.

All of the DPL teams, however, returned to the practice session after the Eid
holidays. However, they will get the services of the Test team cricketers
till April 9.

The Test cricketers will join national team's preparation camp ahead of the
two-Test series against Zimbabwe. The training camp for the Test series is
set to begin in Sylhet on April 11.

Zimbabwe are expected to arrive in Bangladesh on April 15.

The first Test is on April 20 at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium and
it will be the Tigers' first Test encounter against Zimbabwe since July 2021,
which they won by 220 runs in Harare.

The second and final Test is set to begin on April 28 in Chattogram.
