Women's Kabaddi Team off to Nepal

DHAKA, April 19, 2025 (BSS)- Bangladesh National Women's Kabaddi Team left
here this (Saturday) afternoon for Nepal to participate in the maiden five-
match Kabaddi Test Series against their Nepalese counterpart scheduled to be
held from April 20-25.

The first match of the Test series will be held tomorrow (Sunday). The
remaining four matches of the series will be held on April 21, 22, 24 and 25.
All the matches will be held in Kathmandu, the capital of Nepal.

Bangladesh will play the test series against Nepal as a part of preparation
ahead of the Women's Kabaddi World Cup scheduled to be held in Rajgir, Bihar
[a state in Eastern India] from June 1-8.

Apart from host India, Bangladesh, Iran, Japan, Poland, Kenya, Argentina,
Thailand, Nepal, Uganda, Germany, Chinese Taipei, Netherlands and Zanzibar
will participate in the World Cup.

The Bangladesh Kabaddi Federation has taken several plans as part of the
women's team's preparations for the World Cup. Efforts are underway to
organise a match with Thailand after the series against Nepal. In addition,
the federation has a plan to send the women's team to India 15 days or a
month before the World Cup.

The Bangladesh Kabaddi Team is expected to return home on April 26.

Fortune Barisal, the current champion of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL),
is the sponsor of Nepal-bound Bangladesh Women's Kabaddi Team.
