CHATTOGRAM, April 22, 2025 (BSS)- Chattogram Divisional Commissioner Gold Cup
Football Tournament-2025 will begin from Thursday (April 24).
Chattogram Divisional Sports Association (CDSA) is organising the event with
the participation of 11 district teams. The first match of the tournament
will be held at Rangamati Murray Stadium on Thursday afternoon.
Dr Md Ziauddin, divisional commissioner of Chattogram, will be present as the
chief guest at the colorful inaugural ceremony while various programmes will
be presented by traditional tribal and Bengali cultural troops to mark the
event.
This information was disclosed at a press conference held at the CDSA
conference room at MA Aziz Stadium this morning with Additional Divisional
Commissioner (Dev) and President of the Tournament Organising Committee
Sharmin Jahan in the chair.
CDSA has chalked out detailed preparations including finalisation of by-laws
and fixtures to make success the long-awaiting inter-district tournament she
said.
As a part of efforts to accelerate the pace and gearing up the overall
activities of the sports arena in the region, hunting fresh talents from the
remote areas is also one of the core goals of this tournament, she briefed.
Member Secretary of the Tournament Organising Committee Shahnewaz Riton
informed that 11 district teams split into two zones under the Ctg
administrative jurisdiction are participating in the tournament.
'A' zone is consisting of Chattogram, Cox's Bazar, Bandarban, Rangamati and
Khagrachhari districts while 'B' zone is represented by Cumilla,
Brahmanbaria, Chandpur, Noakhali, Lakshmipur, Feni districts, he said.
All the matches of 'A' zone will be held in Rangamati while 'B' zone will be
take place in Cumilla. The champions of the two zones will compete in final
match and venue of the final match will be selected later.
CDSA Member Secretary Md. Sihab Uddin, its members Mohammad Hafizur Rahman
and Syed Abul Bashar, Ctg District Football Association President Shahidul
Islam, Chattogram Press Club Member Secretary Zahidul Karim Kachi and
Chattogram Metropolitan Union of Journalists President Mohammad Shah Nowaz,
among others, addressed the function.
