BRISBANE, Australia, Dec 8, 2021 (BSSAFP) - Heavy rain delayed the start
of play after tea on the first day of the opening Ashes Test between
Australia and England at the Gabba on Wednesday.

  England were dismissed for 147 in their first innings on the stroke of tea.

  Rain began falling during the interval with water pooling around the
covers.
